The Tiny Tree That Triumphed!

What a miracle! About a month ago, I was talking to our neighbor about what kind of tree to plant in the corner of our front yard. She is a landscape expert and suggested different trees. In the course of the conversation, she showed me an amazing new tree that she planted in her back yard.

As I looked off to the left of the tree, I noticed a beautiful aspen fir tree about six feet tall. I asked, "Where can I find a tree like that?" She said that she was thinking about digging it up because it was too crowded in that space and offered to give it to me if I wanted to transplant it!

My son and I dug a large hole in our front yard and then began to dig the tree out. It had been growing for the past eight years and had a massive root system. I contacted another neighbor to help us. He suggested that I use a crow bar.

Another neighbor had loaned us a huge bar to help us did the hole. Wahlah! We pried and pulled and finally uprooted that tiny tree! My son and I planted it in our front yard.

THE TINY TREE TRIUMPHED! It has been growing for over a month and looks great! It overcame the shock of being uprooted and replanted!

Have you been uprooted and transplanted? Are you in shock? TAKE HEART! You will make it! Think of our little tree.

IF IT CAN MAKE IT, SO CAN YOU!

A Miracle Moment!

My wife, son and I returned from a miracle moment in Mexico. Our good friends, John and Robin Mazariegos, missionaries in San Luis Potosi, Mexico invited us down there to do our Identity Formation Seminar as part of my doctoral research project.

On April 4 we had 135 eager participants engaged from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. They were so honoring and eager to learn. It felt like we were in heaven.

I just finished writing the results last night in my dissertation. WOW! It was far more than any of us expected!

Do you have a dream? Is it larger than you could ever do on your own? Ask your friends to pray for you and help you. You never know what kind of miracle moment you will experience!

Giving Out of Your Need

I feel that one way to overcome disappointment and discouragement is to help someone in a way that you enjoy.

When we give encouragement and hope to people in a way that is enjoyable, we always receive more than we give.

Why not take action and do something opposite of the way you feel?

If you are emotionally down, lift someone up who needs to be encouraged. If you are struggling physically or relationally, give some words of encouragement to someone who is hurting in the same way!

I am a candidate in our local police department Volunteer Academy. Our first class was last night. I was very encouraged! I want to help solve problems in our community. I am meeting some wonderful people who want to help solve problems!

Why not try something that you enjoy to encourage someone? You may be surprised at the result! I am!
